Job Description

This role will oversee the management of the Business Development Finance function of the Olympus Corporation, $6B global MedTech company. This individual will be a strategic business partner to SVP of Business Development (BD) and lead end-to-end Finance support for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and divestitures to capture growth opportunities and help achieve Olympus Company’s short-term and long-term strategic and financial aspirations. They will provide analysis and strategic insights through comprehensive valuation of growth opportunities, due diligence, and successful integration.

Job Duties

  • Lead all stages of Finance support for Business Development (BD) deals for Olympus Company: financial valuation modelling, financial due diligence execution, financial integration planning, and financial integration execution with transition plan to long-term accountable owner(s). Support in monitoring financial performance of BD deals through key milestones post-close. Drive strong execution of BD deals through close collaboration with key stakeholders (BD Deal Leader, Integration Manager, Business Unit Leader, Cross-Functional BD Deal Team, and Global Finance leadership).

  • Manage the socialization and presentation of key findings through all stages of BD Finance process to key stakeholders, including CFO, SVP of BD, and Division Heads.

  • Serve as the global liaison between Finance and the BD team.

  • Accountable for developing, maintaining, and executing a Finance/Tax/Accounting/Treasury M&A readiness plan

  • Assess current capabilities, systems, policies, processes, organizational structure, and resources for conducting Financial due diligence, integration strategy/planning activities, and integration execution against best practices and captured in a playbook.

  • Tool & Process Development and Continuous Improvement: Create the tools and standard operating processes necessary to support Finance efforts throughout the full business development cycle (pre deal through integration), including ownership of assigned deliverables.

  • Develop a clear implementation plan, agreed to by BD and Finance senior leaders.

  • Establish best-in-industry BD Finance process, especially integration execution, to enable successful BD deals. Build, train and develop global team of Finance partners, who will support regionally and locally as and when required.

  • Drive strategic discussions with BD team and cross-functional members to enable a comprehensive assessment of the BD Portfolio and individual deals through all key stages. Support in connecting BD Portfolio to overall Company’s strategy and financial aspirations.

  • Provide strategic business partnership to SVP of BD through analyzing and learning from historical M&A performance and shaping future BD strategy and vision.

  • Demonstrates exceptional communication skills. Ability to present financial material concisely and confidently to senior management and/or non-Finance colleagues as required. Exhibits emotional intelligence to gain engagement and influence key stakeholders.

  • Direct and lead a team in fulfilling their finance business partnership responsibilities.

  • Responsible for hiring and retaining a diverse highly qualified staff, and for providing career coaching, growth, and personal development for direct/indirect report employees.

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA preferred.

  • Minimum of 15 years relevant experience with a demonstrated supervisory progression, including financial business partnership to senior management

  • Minimum of 5 years of prior Business Development Finance experience

Preferred:

  • Preferred experience with global (Multi-National) organizations within MedTech industry

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to persuasively influence all levels of the organization

  • Innovative with a strong sense of initiative

  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions and with all levels of the organization

  • Must demonstrate strategic thinking as well as the willingness to lead initiatives through implementation

  • Must have strong PC Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced ever-changing and evolving work environment

  • Strong people leadership skills with a track record of effectively developing employees

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $182,390.00 - $273,584.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
