The Role:

This is a technical, customer-facing role, the prime purpose of which is to conduct investigations undertaken from the desk, in order to assess property damage claims of differing values, working both independently and under referral.

You will be dealing with Public Liability property claims on behalf of utility companies, using your skills and experience to investigate and assess the quantum of the claims and instruct appropriate repair contractors, where necessary. It is a role where soft skills and proactivity are important.

Already experienced within the claims arena, you will have the ability to identify suspicious information and apply correct procedures to avoid fraudulent claims, identify and evaluate evidence.

The client is extremely customer focused and you will be required to answer correspondence, deal with incoming calls, issue client updates and maintain diary processes in a prompt and pro-active manner.

Experience of utility or wet peril claims would be an advantage but not a necessity. Whilst this is a position within TPA Liability it is suited to candidates with home claims experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To receive instructions from the client and acknowledge receipt of same in accordance with requirements of client and Sedgwick service standards

  • To assist with the implementation of appropriate and timely quantum investigations in order to assess allegations made and to provide advice and assistance regarding the claims procedure

  • To assess the need for repair solutions and instruct contractors where necessary

  • To ensure that all contact with parties involved in the claims process is made within Company or client service standards in the agreed format

  • To ensure all databases, files and correspondence are correctly maintained and provide a clear and concise history of events, actions and quantum assessment

  • To ensure that work in progress and new case workflows are managed within agreed KPIs.

  • Good understanding of the claims process

  • Good investigation skills

  • Experience of interfacing with corporate clients desirable

  • Co-operates and works well with others in the pursuit of team goals

  • Able to influence attitudes and opinions of others and gain agreement to proposals, plans and ideas

  • Listens and responds to people effectively

  • Communicates clearly and concisely, including dispersal of information relevant to ongoing modifications to client requirements

  • Concerned to provide a prompt, efficient and personalised service to customers (external and internal)
