King County Housing Authority Floating Assistant Property Manager- Southwest Region in Tukwila, Washington

Job Summary

Please note this position is open until filled; however, to ensure consideration applications should be received by May 17, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. *    We are currently hiring for a Floating Assistant Property Managers that will have an opportunity to work in various satellite offices throughout the Southwest Region.  The Southwest region is composed of various portfolios that are each managed by a property manager and support staff.  The properties are located in Burien, Kent, Seattle, and Tukwila.  The home office will be based at the Seola Gardens portfolio located in Seattle (White Center). The individual selected for this role will perform a variety of administrative duties related to the management of the portfolios. They will be responsible for ensuring that the properties are operated in an efficient, cost effective manner while providing high quality, well maintained housing for the residents and/or tenants. Some of the regular duties in this position will be interfacing with applicants, residents, and neighbors; performing annual reviews and rent calculations for residents; annual inspections, lease-enforcement, and compiling data for use in reports.  The Floating Assistant Property Manager will assist with managing the operations as directed by the Regional Manager.   *About King County Housing Authority  King County Housing Authority (KCHA) is the largest provider of affordable housing in the Pacific Northwest and a nationally recognized leader in affordable housing. Essential Functions

Floating Assistant Property Managers will:

  • Train and monitor the work of new and current staff as directed by the Regional Manager.
  • Provide staff coverage for Property Managers and/or Property Specialists throughout the region as needed.
  • Participate in administrative workload management; support portfolios that with completing tasks timely, staff shortages, lease ups when program changes, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Qualifications: 

  • Associate's Degree AND
  • Moderate experience in affordable housing, property management, or general management OR
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

*Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: *

Demonstrated ability to prepare and maintain records (manual and electronic) and reports with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Knowledge of complex affordable housing programs including HUD rental assistance, LIHTC, HOME and/or other applicable regulated housing programs and Authority policies and procedures.

Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, ensuring accuracy, multi-tasking, and handling interruptions appropriately; ensures assignments are completed in a timely and effective manner.

Communicates effectively and collaboratively with individuals, and internal and external organizations; applies effective written and oral communication techniques to convey clear and timely messages.

Ability to work independently and as a team member to develop effective working relationships; works cooperatively, play a key role in department initiatives, exchanges ideas, and addresses issues in
