How will you make an impact in this role?

You will be responsible for finance and accounting at Pocket Concierge, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Express International Incorporated.

This position is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in this enterprise initiative by continuing to develop a best-in-class intraday reporting process. As an analyst with our company, you will work extensively with our global team to drive these important and exciting initiatives.

This position will allow you to make important strategic decisions for executives and VPs and provide you with the opportunity to influence the design of important future platforms.

• What is Pocket Concierge

Pocket Concierge is one of Japan's leading restaurant reservation platforms, introducing restaurants that offer Japan's best dining experiences, from famous restaurants to up-and-coming restaurants. As American Express' dining platform, we offer cardmembers and the restaurant industry a wealth of benefits, including special events and exclusive access. We are a team full of diversity, with members from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.

Responsibilities:

• Guide business partners and customers in appropriate accounting items in accordance with polies to ensure integrity of financial records

• Act as the relationship lead with the shared service center and respond to and resolve accounting related queries raised by business partners.

• Prepare and submit all statutory and regulatory reporting on a timely basis

• Provide analysis of financial data as required to support reporting requirements and audits.

• Support external auditors and regulators as directed by Manager during external audits and regulatory reviews.

• Conduct research as required on regulation and laws.

• Review of month end accounting entries and ensure compliance to relevant internal policy, local and JGAAP accounting rules.

• Review of accounting entries passed by other finance and non Finance teams enabling identification, reporting and escalation of unusuals in a timely manner.

• Undertake all aspects of the monthly P&L /Balance Sheet Review activities in accordance with policy guideline and as directed by Manager

• Contribute toward process improvements to create efficiencies and eliminate non-value added work.

• Assist accounting manager and market controller with adhoc projects

• Other adhoc support for Pocket Concierge

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of Finance/accounting experience.

• In-depth knowledge of JGAAP

• High proficiency in MS-Office applications

• Fluent Japanese and English (verbal and written)

• A fast/keen learner with the ability to learn a detailed process quickly

• Ability to collaborate with others

Preferred Qualifications

• Bookkeeping is a plus

• Big 4 experience is a plus

• US CPA or Japan CPA is a plus
