Primary Care Director London

Location: Field based with remote working.

Rota: 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday.

Salary: Competitive.

The Linnaeus Group (Mars Petcare) has a very exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced commercial leader to join them as their new Primary Care Director London. Our new Primary Care Director will have eight Linnaeus groups in their region. Totalling 38 veterinary practices within the London and Greater London area.

This opportunity has potential for career progression in a growing business that is a leader within the Veterinary industry both within the UK and globally as part of Mars Veterinary Health. This is a key operational and clinical leadership role focused on four critical areas across a group of multiple practices; our patients, people, practices and performance, ensuring we put patients at the heart of everything we do, and enabling our sites to achieve their full potential.

You will be responsible for all aspects of performance of the primary care businesses within your remit, line managing Clinical Directors and supporting the SLTs of your practices, working with business partners, the Medical Team, Central Operations and other stakeholders. You will work closely with and report to the Primary Care Managing Director with the aim of ensuring your primary care practice teams deliver the highest levels of patient care, people engagement, efficiencies across well maintained and compliant practices, and outstanding commercial performance.

You will demonstrate and develop exemplary leadership within your businesses and implement the direction and frameworks needed to achieve consistent delivery of the business strategy and plan through highly engaged teams.

You will work with the Primary Care Managing Director to develop a clear, visionary and sustainable strategic plan for the delivery of primary care services within your businesses, aligned to the wider Linnaeus strategy.

Main purpose & goals

In this key role, you will be responsible for:

Your patients: You will be the patient and pet lover champion, driving this focus across your primary care businesses. You will drive a high level of client satisfaction, engagement and harness your practices’ passion for pet care, health and clinical excellence. You will share in our passion in making A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS and continually strive to improve the patient and client experience through your teams.

Your people: You are an experienced, inspirational and effective operational people leader who can engage your teams, lead with a human touch and help your people achieve their potential. You will strengthen team development, engagement and retention across your sites through your energy and enthusiasm. You’ll provide outstanding leadership, direction and coaching to your Clinical Directors and in turn, promote equally effective leadership throughout your practice teams. You will partner with the practice SLTs and the central Talent Acquisition team in identifying and recruiting exceptional clinical and non-clinical talent to ensure the practices have full operational resource to be able to deliver the annual plan. You will actively promote positive mental health, wellbeing, equity, diversity and inclusion, and role model the values and principles of Linnaeus and Mars Veterinary Health.

Your practices: You are a strong senior operator able to drive the highest standards of clinical care, quality, standards, compliance and efficiencies across multiple complex sites. You’ll promote education and development and provide direction and leadership to your SLTs and will enable and facilitate best practice sharing and learning across your sites.

Your performance: You are a strong commercial leader able to achieve ambitious financial performance objectives through others. You are responsible for delivery of the annual business plan and budget for your primary care business units. Through your commercial abilities, you positively and consistently impact the P&L and KPI’s of your businesses in line with the strategic business plan. You are responsible for the growth of your practices and as a smart operator, know how to create sustainable multisite change and growth. You are accountable for driving footfall and client engagement in your sites. To do this, you are an engaging coach and mentor to your SLTs in the support and development of their commercial acumen, understanding and ownership.

Ultimately, you ensure each practice meets its financial, operational, colleague engagement and patient satisfaction objectives.

You will ideally demonstrate and have experience in:
