Description

As a key member of the accounting team reporting to the Controller, the ideal candidate will oversee accounting operations and supervise two staff members. This role requires excellent attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements, overseeing the month-end closing process, formulating internal controls and policies, supporting internal and partnership audits, helping in budget and forecast preparation, and participating in annual audit and tax-related work. The candidate will also help develop reports for management or regulatory bodies, review the company's accounting information to resolve inaccuracies, assist the Controller with various tasks, and partake in special projects as requested by management. This role is crucial to maintaining accurate and compliant financial records for the company.

Requirements • Minimum of five years experience in a similar role as an Assistant Controller or higher

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; a CPA or equivalent certification is preferred

• Proven experience in corporate accounting

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Excellent financial reporting capabilities

• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines

• High level of professional integrity and ethical judgement

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
