ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex systems within Honeywell Aerospace for customers. The Sr Advanced Systems Engineer will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will have ownership for systems at every aspect of the systems life cycle; from the front end of business development through product end of life. You will work across disciplines within the organization to drive growth and reach critical business milestones. Develop standards and drive commonality in trade studies, make/buy decisions, proposal support, and lead selected trade studies supporting re-use strategies. Collaborate with platform OEMs and Applications teams to develop viable models/architectures for integrated line maintenance on new programs.

  • Address in-service issues

  • Budget/schedule responsibility

  • Participates with Chief Engineer and Fellows as a reviewer in formal design reviews

  • Generate and define consistent design approaches to aircraft maintenance systems including database reuse strategies, in-service maintainability and risk and opportunity assessments

  • Acts as a mentor to early career engineers

  • Leads activities related to requirement validation and verification. Leads design activities for system and subsystem logic. Leads interactions with internal and external customers

  • Interact with internal and external customers in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications

  • Establishes and applies methodology to new concepts and recommends enhancements to advance projects and processes

  • Identifies and proposes technical improvements using Systems Engineering knowledge and principles

  • Conducts project status and process presentations for leadership and external customers

    U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

MUST HAVE

  • 7+ years’ of Systems Engineering experience developing, implementing and deploying Aerospace Avionics Systems Products to customers

  • Working knowledge of ATR avionics architecture

  • Leading a technical team of domestic and global engineers

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
