The WTW Cyber and Technology Risk Team is unlike anything you have seen before. We are risk and strategy-driven and deliver broad services to help our clients assess and respond to cyber security, incident response, claims, insurance, technology law and governance.

Our team is uniquely cross-functional and provides our clients with independent advice that provides them with access to insights and perspectives none of our competitors offer. The team members are recognised leaders in information security, risk consulting, cyber incident response, risk analytics, dispute resolution, insurance and technology law. This allows us to create cutting-edge tools and client service offerings.

Our team has grown by over 300% in the past 3 years and we are now looking to hire a new lead consultant to cement our market-leading position. This is a unique opportunity that will allow the successful candidate to have access to WTW’s entire client base across Australia and New Zealand, grow a practice within a supportive environment and leverage our complementary offerings and work streams.

This is a role where no two days will be the same. You will be at the forefront of some of the fastest-moving industries in the region and be given a platform to build your reputation and expertise across our advisory, consulting and insurance work.

The Role

This role is for a senior leader within our advisory and consulting practice. Our focus is to find the candidate who will be the right long-term fit for our team, and for this region, there will not be any immediate revenue targets tied to the successful candidate. We also do not require candidates to have an established pipeline of work. We will help the successful candidate build opportunities by leveraging both their networks and WTW’s existing client relationships.

WTW values diverse backgrounds and individuals who have unique perspectives and capabilities. For this reason, we will consider candidates from across Australia and will tailor the role to suit the candidate’s specific experience and capabilities.

We will also consider candidates from a range of backgrounds including:

  • Former CISOs and senior cyber security leaders within organisations

  • Cyber governance risk and compliance experts

  • Technology and privacy law specialists

  • Cyber risk consultants and strategy advisors

  • Forensic cyber incident response experts

  • Cyber incident response claims managers

  • Technology risk managers

  • Technology and cyber incident loss adjustors

The successful candidate will be a designated leader for our consulting and advisory services and will also be provided with the opportunity to work across the entire range of risk, quantification, insurance, claims and support services that WTW delivers to its clients. The candidate will also work closely with our wider team across cyber risk insurability, resilience, claims advocacy and risk identification projects.

The candidate will be supported by our existing team which includes cyber risk consultants, financial modelling experts, legal experts, insurance broking specialists, claims managers and former cyber incident responders. The candidate will also be provided with support from WTW’s global Cyber and Technology risk colleagues and the ability to connect with our consultant and risk & analytics experts from across the globe.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong work ethic. The candidate will be capable of driving both current opportunities with WTW clients and growing our advisory and consulting offering to the next stage.

Key elements of this role will include:

  • Scoping, managing and delivering projects for WTW clients across the Australasian region;

  • Helping clients understand critical technology risks and their needs across risk consulting, advisory and insurance placement;

  • Functioning as a senior resource on cyber accounts within the practice by participating in strategic planning, providing technical subject matter expertise, and supporting claims processes

  • Working with WTW teams to pursue client engagement and consulting project opportunities.

  • Publication of thought leadership, articles and participation in third-party conferences and educational events.

  • Cultivating and supporting WTW across consulting, advisory and risk-led opportunities.

  • Working with the team to manage pipeline, prospects and financial reporting.

  • Developing expertise across the broad range of risk and insurance services provided by WTW (Cyber, IT Liability, FinTech, D&O, Professional Indemnity)

  • Working with third-party and industry stakeholders across a broad range of initiatives.

The Requirements

As our team plays at the boundary of cyber, technology risk, insurance and the law, candidates should have experience in some of these areas. We also value curiosity and candidates who are passionate about the cyber and technology industry, and the rate of change being seen across the industry.

We will consider a wide variety of candidates who display the right attitude, work ethic, passion and collaborative behaviours.

Preferred skills for the role include:

  • 10+ business cycles within Cyber Security, Technology Risk, Technology Law or privacy
