Role - Senior Quality Test Engineer II

Location - Oxford

About our Team-

This is a position in Research data platform team responsible for performing functional testing, development and execution of performance and automation testing solution.

About the Role

This position works with the development team to develop functional testing, apply automation strategy and to plan and execute effective and efficient performance and automation testing to accomplish on-time and efficient delivery of high-quality software products and/or data.

Responsibilities

  • Innovating process improvements that enable efficient delivery and maintenance with consistent direction.

  • Researching available tools and lead or participate in initiatives to identify and implement those that will cost-effectively enhance testing capabilities and product quality

  • Developing and execute automated and performance testing for assigned projects to successfully and consistently enable delivery of high-quality software products and services on time, on budget, and to specification

  • Interacting with Product Management, Project Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to plan testing for delivery of products and enhancements and to assure products meet product requirements and quality standards.

  • Reporting issues and results, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate, documenting accordingly

  • Ensuring that testing addresses requirements as agreed with other stakeholders.

  • Conducting project reviews, ensuring review criteria are defined, and implementing procedures for ensuring quality control of project deliverables

  • Leading or participate in continuous improvement initiatives andimplementation of best practices

Requirements

  • Have understanding of QA methodologies and process improvement

  • Possess knowledge of the software development process

  • Display experience in QA testing skills. Ability to develop and execute complex automated and performance testing.

  • Have basic understanding of working within budgets. Understanding of industry trends

  • Possess research skills (tools/root cause analysis). Exhibits innovative approaches to processimprovement

  • Understand of automation best practices and methodologies

  • Knowledge in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins , github etc

  • Experience in Java programming and automation frameworks such as Cucumber BDD/ Selenium

  • Knowledge in containerisation tools like Docker is desirable
