The Crouse Hinds (Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions) division is part of Eaton’s electrical sector and has over 125 years of experience in protecting people, processes and assets in the most challenging environments. Our strategic focus is on driving growth, leveraging innovation and building capability across our global network towards diverse customer base - end-users, EPCs, integrators, OEMs and distributors.

We have an exciting role for an Electronic Design Engineer to work out of our Sutton Plant, where you will have the opportunity to grow and develop your skillset.

What you’ll do:

Design of industrial control products for harsh and hazardous areas. Product designs are predominantly analog with some microcontroller integration. Experience of electronics development for regulated markets requiring standards adherence and certification is desired. There is a particular focus on developing ATEX/IEC-Ex certified products predominantly for Intrinsic Safety.

  • Design and develop new products in accordance with agreed design specifications, schedule and cost targets, ensuring a high standard of product quality and reliability.

  • Apply expertise to the design of electronics products, advancing the capabilities of the department.

  • Demonstration of excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of leading others to do the same. Ability to refine ambiguous information and propose concepts/solutions.

  • Participation in formal design reviews, ensuring that reviews are robust, productive and treated as an integral part of the design process.

  • Capturing, specifying, and managing design requirements. Undertake and/or supervise verification and validation of new product designs to ensure that these requirements have been met.

  • Assisting the development of other engineers, e.g. giving technical guidance, showing commercial awareness, showing commitment to timescales, showing positive attitude.

  • Participation in the definition of product roadmaps.

  • Ability to write clear and unambiguous process and product documentation.

  • Maintaining an awareness of current industry trends and maintaining relationships with suppliers to make best use of emerging technologies.

  • Provide technical support to Sales, Marketing, Operations and external customers when more in depth product knowledge is required.

Qualifications:

  • Batchelor degree in Electronic Design Engineering or equivalent discipline

  • Development of analog based electronic products

  • Industry experience with Electronic Design Engineering
