The Lead business development Representative is primarily responsible for increasing the volume of new opportunities and expanding existing relationships across multiple disciplines. The role will focus on new customer acquisition and strategic account portfolios. This Software and Advisory role supports multiple disciplines; Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Sustainability. This role will support networking and relationship development in the following industry segments, Retail, Automotive, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Oil and Gas.

  • Receives inbound Key+ tier leads and establishes relationships to qualify and facilitate customer introductions to UL sellers.

  • Networks to make new business contacts using market research, web-based tools, and social media; follows the standard operating procedures and approaches contacts via electronic communication methods (email, phone, video, etc. ).

  • Understands customer needs and can identify potential opportunities for UL to provide value. Ensures smooth handoffs to sellers to maximize conversion of leads to a sale.

  • Works under a moderate level of supervision to qualify inbound and outbound leads generated by multiple channels (e.g.

  • marketing, customer outreach, Field Engineers, etc.) to ensure the prospect meets a defined set of criteria.

  • Follows leads through the beginning of the sales cycle, handing off qualified leads to the appropriate salesperson, tracking leads through the sales cycle, and ensuring lead follow-up.

  • Maintains industry knowledge to understand customer needs and opportunities for UL products/services.

  • Provides inbound and outbound lead generation and qualification for Account Executives (AEs) with which they are aligned in order to support Key+'s new logo acquisition.

  • Provides inbound and outbound lead qualification support for existing accounts in the Key+ tiers; routes additional qualified inbound leads to appropriate sellers in the Commercial and SMB tiers.

  • Collaborates with account teams to understand and build optimal lead pipeline and more efficiently qualify and identify high-potential leads from existing accounts.

  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

  • Performs other duties as directed.

  • Serve as the first point of contact to qualify initial customer inquiries. Assign, and qualify marketing qualified leads to support a best-in-class customer experience. (Shared ownership of the opportunity from lead to order)

  • Assuring all regional lead queues are maintained to existing service level agreements. Assists sales in re-engagement of dormant enterprise leads.

  • Promote and support a portfolio of solutions to existing accounts. Identify prospects and develop opportunities to promote cross-functional capabilities.

  • Utilise the CRM to create, monitor and recommend lead generation plans to ensure a healthy sales pipeline.

  • Independently identify and pursue prospects through various lead-generating activities, including leadership with industry associations, tradeshow attendance, market research and relationship development.

  • Meet with prospects to identify and qualify their current and future needs. Gain an understanding of the decision-makers, personas, delivery timeframes, budget, challenges, and regulations.

  • Support the development of sales presentations, present to key stakeholders, and prepare and review quotations.

  • Meets or exceeds assigned sales targets on a monthly/quarterly basis.

  • College qualification / University degree or equivalent job-related experiences

  • Demonstrated ability to use various PC-based software packages for basic word processing, graphics, and spreadsheets.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and ability to create, or review, content in a simple, informative and highly consumable way
