Position Summary

We are looking for a Machinist to join our Muncie team.

Bandag is the business of Bridgestone dedicated to the research, development and manufacturing of premium retread tires. The Bandag facility in Muncie has been in operation since 1969, producing tread molds for Bandag retread-producing facilities, as well as materials for the Bandag dealers.

In this role you will machine and measure mold segments for tire and retread industry.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and adjust fixtures for a wide range of parts in CNC machines and CNC lathes.

  • Able to read and interpret drawings for tolerances and critical dimensions

  • Create, adjust, and run programs in CNC machines and CNC lathes using Mazatrol and G-Code. While changing parts and tooling throughout production shift.

  • Use manual machines such as lathes, drill presses, saws to machine parts to desired specifications

  • Measure and monitor the quality of production output with quality instruments and CMM’s (coordinate-measuring machine)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Lift up to 50lbs of raw materials and finished goods repeatedly throughout the shift

  • Be able to transport raw materials and finished goods throughout tight corridors multiple times a day with a fork truck

  • Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training / associates degree
