Global Markets Group is the offshoring arm of Morgan Stanley’s Sales & Trading businesses in India. It covers functions across IED and Fixed Income Division (FID) ranging from those associated with sales, trading, analytics, strats to risk management.

  • Background of the Team *

The PB finance is a New York based team in the Institutional Equities Division (IED) of Morgan Stanley whose key functions are mentioned below

· Provide a means to identify, analyze, and prioritize new and existing business opportunities with our clients,

· Liaise with Sales and Client Service in order to provide a holistic view of client value

· Help facilitate cross-divisional communication concerning the PB business and it client base.

· Partner with support services to ensure the integrity of data and processes used to support the business.

Primary Responsibilities **

The role is based out of Mumbai and required working with the PB finance team in New York within theInstitutional Equities Division (IED)Department. The role will require a fast-learning, dynamic, pro-active and self-motivated person to assist in analyzing and reporting revenues and profitability.

The role involves working on –

· Providing support to senior team members in the production of business and client metrics including:

a. Development, and maintenance of ongoing reporting of revenues, balances, and profitability

b. Ownership of key account metrics including client segment analysis, tiering, client PBT, and ROA production and review

c. Produce weekly/monthly/quarterly management reports

· Preparing regular and ad hoc analyses for PB sales and SRM in advance of client meetings and pitches, including Business Mix analysis. Produce client revenue summaries to be delivered to the NY team for client discussions.

· Work closely with IT to develop and implement solutions in line with business needs.

· Liaising with finance team in the preparation of monthly business level analytics including product attribution and spread analysis.

· Prepare and own the weekly client selection committee meeting by maintaining ongoing dialogue with all the disciplines involved.

· Provide leverage for ad hoc client and internal asks.

/Additional responsibilities would include:/

· Global PB Business and Client Metrics, including budgeting and forecasting.

· Identifying trends in client revenue andrecognizingcommercial opportunities.

· Driving the creation of client metrics for PB management.

· Collaborating with PB disciplines (Sales, Client Service, and Risk) and stock loan in the evaluation, approval, and pricing of new business.

· Interfacing with clients on pricing, funding, and liquidity questions.

· Driving technology initiatives – including development of creative solutions and prioritizing technology resources.

· Partnering with other areas with respect to the preparation and presentation of information to regulatory bodies.

· Partnering with all disciples across PB in order to ensure the Client Selection Committee meeting runs smoothly.

Skills required (essential)

We are looking for a pro-active person who has a high attention to detail, is a quick learner and has a natural curiosity to understand about financial markets and products.

· 2-4 years of experience.

· Chartered Accountants only.

· Familiarity with VBA is an added advantage.

· Excellent written & spoken English; Excellent business writing skills

· Excellent telephone skills (regular phone contact with team required)

· Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills

· Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

· Pro-active and results oriented mind-set

· Ability to think creatively and strategically and thrive in a dynamic work environment. · Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines. · Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across organizational boundaries.
