Description We are in search of a dedicated Legal Assistant to support our operations in Milford, Massachusetts. This role is pivotal in our estate planning and probate function, where you will have the opportunity to contribute to our growing business. The position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity and involves working from a home office, as well as on-site visits.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the organization of estate planning and probate documents

• Handling the maintenance and organization of client files, including closed files that need to be retained for several years

• Providing support in the preparation and proofreading of legal documents

• Utilizing Case Management Software and Microsoft Office Suites for various administrative tasks

• Managing the billing functions and handling any client complaints

• Conducting research using LexisNexis and other legal databases

• Assisting in the management of calendars and scheduling client appointments

• Handling court filings and paper filing as required

• Demonstrating strong organizational capabilities in managing a growing workload

• Taking on additional responsibilities and learning new skills as needed to support the business. Requirements • Proficiency in Case Management Software

• Experience with LexisNexis

• Familiarity with Management Systems

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites

• Ability to handle Billing Functions

• Experience with Briefing

• Proficiency in Calendar Management

• Experience in Complaint Handling

• Strong Documentation skills

• Knowledge of Probate Law

• Knowledge of Elder Law

• Strong Organizational capabilities

• Experience with Court Filings

• Proficiency in Paper Filing
