TEKsystems Desktop Support Technician in Midland City, Alabama

Michelin Desktop Support role in Dothan, AL:

Required Skills:

  1. 3+ years desktop support experience in an enterprise environment (preferably PC troubleshooting in walk up environment)

  2. Imaging - either SCCM or Ghost

  3. Light networking skills (maybe got a net+ in school but hasn't had a chance to use it - replace a switch, install a WAP)

Description:

Minimum 2-3 years experience in Deskside Support. Utilize Microsoft technologies including Windows 7, MS Office Suite, and Outlook email. PC hardware troubleshooting and maintenance. Experience with Incident Management tool to receive, update, escalate and close incident tickets. Experience with PC refresh, asset management, PC lifecycle management. Managing responsibilities and priorities to achieve SLAs. Good oral and written communications required.

Candidates must be comfortable educating and guiding internal Michelin employees. Includes On Call duties for Network Hands and Feet. Familiar with basic network and server equipment.

At each of our supported locations, Deskside Technicians are responsible for resolving customer PC and device issues, conducting, maintaining, and managing leased PC asset inventory and PC leased lifecycle, deploying and configuring PCs and installations and providing PC operations support. Responsible to execute their responsibilities within established ServiceNow SLAs and high levels of customer satisfaction. Technician will also provide backup/on-call support to plant location(s) during emergency situations (rare occurrence). In these situations, support must be provided to the plant, regardless of time of day or night. Must be able to be at the site 30 minutes after being notified.

Responsibilities:

P1/P2 on call support. Rotate 24 x 7 support with team.

Maintain computer room and network closets according to Michelin standards.

Provide technical assistance to end users. Work in Tech Zone and manage incident queues timely.

Fulfillment of requests entered in SNOW for site according to SLA. Manage request queues timely.

Deploy and refresh PCs to end users. Timely disposal of PCs to leaser.

Deploy and refresh printers to the site. Coordinate break-fix for printers.

Deploy and refresh network devices (switches, WAPs, wireless controllers).

Deploy and maintain security patching of PCs at site (DCSI and non-DCSI PCs).

Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment (EUX, NET) in SNOW following standards and processes. Includes receiving and disposal of equipment (end to end lifecycle).

Technical skills with network, audio/visual, PC support and other IT technical infrastructure hands on skills.

Self-motivated and driven to achieve quality results.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Light networking knowledge: replacing a switch; installing a wireless access point.

This is a long term, 3+ year long contract as a W2 employee. However, this position is open as our contractor went FTE with Michelin!
