Trinity Health Patient Transporter - Skilled Nursing Unit Admininstration - Full Time in Mason City, Iowa

Description:

Under the supervision of the clinical nurse manager, clinical leader/charge and/or registered nurse serves as transporter of patients to and from appointments and East Campus.

Position Purpose:

Under the supervision of the clinical nurse manager, clinical leader/charge and/or registered nurse serves as transporter of patients to and from the units.

What you Will Do:

  • Provides safe patient transport to and from appointments and during admissions from East Campus.

  • Prioritizes requests for services and performs tasks in a timely manner.

  • Assures the workstation equipment is functioning appropriately, office supplies are adequate, and maintains an updated working knowledge of new equipment and technology. Keeps workstation/area organized, neat, and clean.

  • Obtains supplies via phone and on-line ordering.

  • Places calls and work orders to other departments as needed.

  • Answers telephone and provides information/messages to patients and medical staff in a professional and respectful manner.

  • . Maintains required department confidentiality and abides by HIPPA regulations.

  • Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments.

Monday - Friday / Fulltime

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school graduate or GED or equivalent required

  • Active Chauffer's license required.

  • Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.

  • Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa guidelines.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Mercy Vehicle; as a requirement to operate a Mercy vehicle, incumbentwill need to have proof of and maintain valid driver's license on file with Human Resources.
