The position plays a vital role supporting clinicians and staff in providing routine and specialized care for the general surgery and orthopedic surgery departments. The selected candidate will be able to expand their skills in an innovative and exciting environment. The position requires the ability and willingness to collaborate with and interact as part of a team within the Surgical services and all other services in the hospital. Responsibilities: Tasks: Responsible for independently and proficiently performing technical nursing responsibilities to provide quality patient care Participates in the instructional needs of the teaching hospital as needed. Participates in the training and mentoring of students, interns, technicians, assistants, and residents Responsible for maintaining equipment and adequate inventory of area supplies and cleanliness of facility Collect and submit patient samples to the onsite laboratory Help aid DVMs and 4th year students in patient appointments, procedures, and surgeries which will include sedation and advanced imaging Collaborates as a team with co-workers in a positive productive manner Effectively copes with unanticipated problems and suggesting methods of correction or prevention. Assists in providing accurate estimates to clients and able to answer questions regarding procedures and diagnostics. Ensures charge capture is accurate and reflects patient care provided General cleaning and maintenance for the service Continue to learn to gain knowledge to be able to provide quality care for all patients.
