About You

In terms of your experience, your attitude is everything, but we'd particularly love to see:

  • Must be able to work between 8am-10pm (shift patterns may vary) and participate in an on call rota once every two months

  • Experience in Windows and Windows servers and the infrastructure that supports this

  • Min 5 years experience in automation and devops

  • Must have worked in an Azure environment

  • Good experience in a client / customer facing role

  • Must be experienced in scripting and automation (Powershell would be ideal)    

  • Project management and delivery experience    

  • Understanding and support experience of .NET Framework applications.    

  • Basic SRE analysis and automation experience

What will you be doing

  • Provide Incident & Problem Management support 

  • Act as part of a wider resolver team for incident resolution.     

  • Support Problem Management in identifying and resolving systemic issues. 

  • Contribute to reducing the support burden (backlog of known issues). 

  • Gather information to enable incident resolution and manage incidents with regular updates. 

  • Perform investigations and resolve issues relating to infrastructure or finova applications.  

  • Set up and maintain systems, environments and access 

  • Ensure high availability of systems and evidence with regular fail-over DR tests.   

  • Support Project Teams with setting up new development and client environments on-time, on-budget.   

  • Ensure consistency across environments and proactively reduce drift where identified.  

  • Assist with specified maintenance procedures.  

  • Complete a level of post deployment testing and validation of services to confirm they are healthy.   

  • Respond to routine requests. Maintain records and advises relevant persons of actions taken.  

  • Assist in investigating and resolving issues relating to access controls and security systems.    

  • System governance & asset management 

  • Apply tools, techniques, and processes to administer, track, log, report on and correct configuration items, components, and changes.  

  • Assists with audits to check the accuracy of the information and undertake any necessary corrective action under direction.    

  • Use agreed procedures to create and maintain an accurate register of assets. Perform activities related to the administration of assets.  

  • Produce routine reports to assist asset management activities and decision-making.    

  • Create and maintain support documentation.   

  • Maintain the change management process following an ITIL framework. 

  • Ensure systems meet the security standards (CIS) and follow GDPR and ISO27001 security and data protection practices. 

  • Deliver training sessions to lower engineers to improve skill sets and ensure knowledge transfer for hosting environments and underpinning technologies.
