This position is concerned with operation and administration in addition to secretarial function & woman security assistance in the Security department.

What will I be doing?

As the Security Personnel, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

TEAM MEMBER ENTRANCE

•Ensures that no off duty team member permitted to enter the hotel without prior approval and no rank and file to leave the hotel during working hours. Team Members must obtained approval from their respective department head through a leaving premises form.

•Registration and issuing of entry passes to visitors, vendors, casual team members, and contractors who have dealings with the hotel. All identity must be an official government photo identity ONLY. Foreign worker must procedure original passport and Immigration card ONLY.

•Off duty inspection is to be carried out at every interval of shift as to prevent the pilferage of equipment/items belonging to the hotel. Checking should be done politely but firm. Male officers are not allowed to conduct physical checks on female team members.

•Close monitor of CCTV for instant detection of instruction and infiltration in the designation area. Constant surveillance on routine hotel activity.

•To screen all incoming items, parcel, packages, etc to determine their validity and safety, and to ensure that all outgoing packages are only allowed when accompanied by an Outgoing Dockets from respective department heads.

•A Team Member who is removing personal gift from a guest, other personal items must be accompanied with Team Members Gift Removal Form from respective department heads.

•In the absence of Chief of Security and Security Supervisors, answer all incoming telephone call and inquiries politely. Incoming calls for the employees should NOT be connected through. Take the message and pass on to the employees concerned

•To enforce the key control procedures and issue to authorize individuals only Inventories on the back of the house keys in the security office must be carried out on every change in position (location).

•Daily night audit for all keys must be performed.

•Vehicles entering the receiving bay must be observed and checked for suspicious object.

•Vehicles are not allowed to park in this area unless for delivering goods only.

•Unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter Fire Control Centre (security office).

•Do not leave the team members entrance unattende

•Telephone extension in the Security Personnel should be kept free at all times

LOBBY/BALLROOM ENTRANCE

·As you are stationed in front of the house, always behave yourself in the manner befitting your profession as a Security Personnel.

·Always be observant and alert. You are to use your own judgment in dealing with situation.

·Keep watch on a single female who frequent the hotel especially when there are groups in house.

·Evict undesirable guests, or loiterers from the hotel. You are authorized to check anybody whom you suspect could be a threat. In doing so, you are initially to identify yourself. Take down their particulars as per his/her identity card. Never retain their identity card.

·Advise front office to refuse registration to these known to be bad characters.

·Ensures that no unauthorized person or vehicles enter the porte cochere and lobby area. Person seeking admission are courteously received and assisted.

·Female or guest who came out from the room in the early morning could be a prime suspect or prostitute and they are to be checked and questioned.

·To monitor the traffic at the porte cochere. Ensure the entrance is clear at all times. Direct the vehicles to the basement parking

·Guest luggage arrival/departure must be properly observed. Ensure the safety of guest luggages and personal belongings

·Check and observed the luggage room and never allow unauthorized personnel to enter the room.

·Area of responsibility includes porte cochere, lobby, reception area, all outlets.

·Inform the Security Supervisor, or control room on duty on requisition for escort services.

·Direct any visitors/vendors, courier service to Fire Control Centre for security clearance.

·Never disclose guests’ room numbers to unauthorized person/s.

·All team members except for 4 Directors are not allowed to enter/exit the hotel through lobby.

·Communicate effectively with team members in the area. Do not leave your assigned area unless instructed.

FCC (Fire Control Centre)

·As you are stationed at the FCC, your primary responsibility is monitoring all activities in the area. Your area includes all guest and service lifts and fire control panel.

·Security Personnel upon taking over duty to ensure he/she been fully briefed by his subordinates on alarm, isolation, faults and warning during his shift and happenings, function on the following shift.The Security Personnel who is taking over duty need to verify all the above information personally from the Siemens panel.

·Any isolation point will require the justification to do so and any isolation will be subject to Chief Security & Chief Engineer approval. All isolation point to be transferred on isolation log book point by point written in the log book and follow up after end of isolation time.

·Upon Isolation of the location, to ensure a Security Personnel is notified to frequently patrol the area with patrolling device.

·No team members are allowed to enter the FCC unless prior permission is given.

·FCC is strictly an out of bound to all team members of the hotel .Doors must be closed at all times.

·Close monitor of the fire alarm control panel and report on any malfunctions or alarm signal. If the alarm is activated, isolate and inform your immediate superior and other. Security Personnel members nearby the alarm location to inspect the cause of the alarm. Engineering team member should also be informed immediately.

·All activities must be documented for inspection and open for future review.

·Cleanliness of FCC is of prime important. Make sure the area is clean and tidy at all times.

·Do not leave the FCC without any replacement.

·Do not eat, drink or smoke inside FCC.

·To ensure that emergency telephone extension is good working condition and to answer all calls immediately.

·Should an alarm activates, FCC/CCTV Operator to acknowledge the alarm and call magic informing the location of alarm to page ERT members the location of fire alarm. ERT will respond the location. Upon confirmation by ERT leader false alarm, the FCC Operator will then reset the fire alarm and reset all lifts back to normal.

·If it is real scenario the Evacuation Matrix to be followed accordingly.

Heart of the House

·Detailed checking/inspection along the hallway/corridor in the detection of safety hazards.

·Close observation on the movement of hotel team members in the area.

·Routine check in the kitchen areas, team members locker rooms, service lifts, exit doors, fire escape staircase, store rooms and offices.

·Ensure all mechanical rooms/risers are locked.

·Strict surveillance on the movement of equipment.

·Ensure all exit doors are locked from external part.

Vehicle Inspection

·To carry our vehicle inspection on all vehicles arriving at the hotel at both checkpoint. The inspection doing undercarriage mirror and boot inspections to detect any explosives, dangerous weapon and other illegal items (the procedures stated in hotel policy under vehicle inspection).

·Any suspicious movements or vehicle to be monitored.

Common Lobby Carpark

·Security Personnel on duty to ensure proper control of this carpark. Only chauffeurs are allowed in after due verification.

·Drivers details must be registered in the movement book. Authorities, vehicle can be allowed for temporary parking.

·The cars coming in to park must be duly inspected and verified with an undercarriage mirror and boot inspection by the

·Security Personnel on duty.

·Suppliers vehicle coming in must first be verified and check against the registration records and inspection to be carried out.

·Motorcycle park at common lobby carpark are only for both hotel guests and must be registered each time park.

Patrolling interior and exterior of the hotel

·Contact checking on all service team members attending the guest rooms.

·Ensure that all stairways and hallways lighting are in order.

·Unauthorized personnel are not permitted on the floor. Any suspicious characters are tactfully approached. If they are not registered guest, they must be escorted out of the hotel.

·Detection of any safety hazards and inspection of fire exits and first aid fire appliance. All guest room must be checked and locked. In the event should you find a door ajar, never open or enter the room without prior checking its status. Always adhere to guest room entry procedure and notify your immediate supervisor

·The Security Personnel require to patrol the entire carpark by foot or a motorcycle and also parameter of the hotel using an electronic patrolling gadget. The patrolling also the person attending to any emergency. The patrol is done every half and hour without fail. Night patroller to entire carpark and complex vehicle park inventory.

·Inquiries on lost and found must be instantly attended.

·Respond promptly and efficiently to all guest inquiries and request. Do not disclose room numbers to unknown person.

·In providing close escort form VVIPs, constant patrols to be conducted on the rooms blocked for these important people prior to their arrival.

·All fire emergency staircases must not be blocked, or obstructed. In the event of fire, you are to act immediately. If it is a small fire, put it out immediately otherwise activate the alarm immediately and inform telephone operator. Wait for further instruction.

·Watch out for a single female loitering on the floor and if in doubt, escort her to the Fire Control Centre for questioning. Notify your immediate supervisor immediately.

·To check all pantry room/stores found on the floors.

·Ensure all exit doors are locked from external part.

·All electrical room & plant room to be checked

Clocking

·All checking points must be attended to and registered.

·In attending the points, you are required to observe the surrounding areas. To report on any irregularities found or detected.

·Clocking by using patrolling device to be carried out.

·Clocking/patrolling to be scheduled at least 4 times a day covering all 3 working shifts.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a security position.
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly.
  • Good knowledge of the hotel’s life-safety systems, fire equipment and security operations.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to details.
  • Literacy in English and Bahasa Malaysia to meet business needs, preferred.
