At our Turf International Centre of Excellence in Ipswich (Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd), we design and manufacture Jacobsen and Ransomes turf maintenance equipment that is trusted on some of the finest formal turf areas internationally.

Working alongside experienced employees, our apprentices gain a wealth of knowledge, as well as job-specific skills. Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll spend a minimum of 20% of your time learning and studying.

Welding Apprenticeship - Level 2

As a Weld Apprentice at Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd, you will gain a comprehensive insight in to all aspects of welding. Using skilled techniques to make high strength joints between parts, you will use a range of welding processes and metals to meet the level of quality/inspection required in safety critical work.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Producing a range of welded assemblies, to include butt welds and fillet welds using both MIG (metal inert gas) and TIG (tungsten inert gas) on think sheet and plate metal;

  • Grinding using bench and hand-held grinders;

  • Metal finishing using shot blasters.

Come along to our Apprenticeship Open Evening on Thursday 21st March 2024 (4:00pm - 6:00pm) to find out more about the apprenticeships we have on offer. As well as this, you'll receive a factory tour, and weather permitting, have the opportunity to drive some of our vehicles! Qualifications

About You

You will bring dedication, passion, and a real desire to succeed. Possessing strong problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills, coupled with the ability to work as part of a high performing team, you will also be confident working autonomously and will be driven to get

results. Working within a fast-paced environment means you need to relish a challenge and have a can-do attitude.

You should have a minimum of four GCSE's at Grade 3 or above.
