The Small Business Banking Relationship Manager develops & cultivates small business & consumer market share by locating, prospecting & securing client relationships. The Small Business Relationship Manager collaborates with multiple departments to identify & provide solutions to clients? problems & needs. Forges strong relationships with clients to create future advocates & sources of referrals. Essential Responsibilities: Develops a strategic market area business plan focused on increasing revenue, identifying areas for cross-serve, & building a reputation for being a trusted resource for small businesses Identifies prospective clients through research, outreach, & community involvement Aids clients in self-discovery on needs & solutions to help them meet their financial goals & aspirations Strengthens relationships through utilization of Relationship Management Action Plans (RMAP?s) to assess clients current status & future growth needs Works directly with the branch managers?small business specialists in the achievement of their goals & targets, & development of their small business lending portfolios Collaborates across multiple departments to develop loan & deposit portfolios with the cross-sales of additional products & services to meet the financial needs & wants of the clients they serve Continually builds & fosters the relationships with strategic contact via a communication plan to deliver on outcomes & ensure client satisfaction Responds quickly & positively to clients outreach & concerns. Identifies the appropriate subject matter expert(s) to bring into the conversation to help meet clients? growing needs Advocates goodwill & corporate citizenship by attending local events to network & engage with community leaders & community at large. Participates in after-hour bank & Cape Cod community activities as needed Executes & supports the Bank?s overall strategic plan & priorities Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed compliance guidelines Takes personal initiative & discipline in interactions & provides the examples for others to follow Requirements Competencies Professionalism - demonstrates a consistent professional demeanor & appearance Tenacity - understands the nature of sales & the need to accept rejection & move on Communication Skills - well versed in presentations & public speaking. Uses consultative approach & knows the art & science of asking questions Organization - demonstrates strong organizational skills to multi-task with efficiency & work independently Disciplined - knows how to work a pipeline to maintain a strong workflow & stay active Excellence in Service - understands how their personal brand ties closely with the organization & builds a strong & positive reputation in the community Supervisory Scope Works with influence to help educate the branch managers in their loan origination skills & understanding Qualifications Education &/or Experience BS/BSA degree level of education or its equivalent in retail banking experience, including related work & training Five plus years of retail & sales experience with an emphasis in consultative sales & excellence in service Knowledge of & experience with commercial credit underwriting Experience as a small business relationship manager or lender preferred Proficiency with MS Office & banking related software Ability to maintain confidentiality; with tact & diplomacy Physical Requirements Ability to lift & carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis A degree of travel is required to cover an assigned territory. Must have a reliable means of transportation.
