Applied Materials Manager, Supplier Engineer in Hwaseong-Lucestar, South Korea

Key Responsibilities

Develop suppliers to meet special capabilities, processes, capacity and quality. Support Quality Improvement work assistance via Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events and auditing suppliers.

Meet key performance measures within the organization in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Determine and maintain the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) budgetary planning and ensure launch dates and cost reduction targets are met.

Provide direction in developing employee base and driving improvements within key functions in area of responsibility.

Maintain effective relationships with key internal customers and support organizations. Work with cross functional departments, to develop cost reduction and avoidance initiatives and supply base improvement projects

Perform quantitative, statistical, and risk analyses to determine the direct and indirect costs. Follow Six Sigma and continuous improvement processes to improve departmental performance on an on-going basis.

Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in own specialized discipline or field

  • Design for manufacturability knowledge.

  • Knowledge of metrology and measuring equipment

  • Understanding the broad scope of a factory’s methods and processes: material control, inspection/QC, cleaning, 5S, tool crib, tool life management, detailing, packaging.

  • Understanding of manufacturing principles with suppliers

  • Demonstrates in-depth understanding of concepts, theories and principles in own job family and basic knowledge of other related job families

Leadership

  • Manages a generally homogeneous team; adapts plans and priorities to meet service and/or operational challenges.

  • Lead project teams with resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity to achieve milestone and objectives.

Problem Solving

  • Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions

  • Familiar with Lean production or Kaizen improvement.

  • Leads of supplier process, quality improvement.

  • Familiar with Analytic methodology

  • Guided by policies and resource requirements within business unit, department or sub-function

Interpersonal Skills

Bachelor’s / Master's Degree. in mechanical, industrial, electrical, materials manufacturing engineering or related discipline.
