This is a part-time position located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, with work hours being primarily in the summer and the fall. The company will not provide relocation assistance or other employment benefits for this position. HGCE Station Conductors work in our brand-new, exciting cinematic theater show. The Station Conductors will circulate and interact with guests in character prior to their entrance onto the station platform, board guests onto the platform via a microphone, and are responsible for delivering lines over a mic in the theatre. The Conductor will perform other theater-related duties as needed. The required skills for this position include the ability to speak in front of a large audience and to multi-task with quick turnaround. The Conductor must be able to deliver exceptional customer service and guest interaction while maintaining the integrity of the HGCE experience and staying “in character”. Hershey’s Chocolate World requires a focus on exceptional customer service and expects employees to be approachable, courteous, knowledgeable about our products, able to clearly communicate with guests and assist them with questions and provide general information to guests with a high level of professionalism. * * *Summary of major duties: * Must demonstrate our Customer Service Pledge * Must be approachable, showing that our guests are our priority * Must initiate contact with our guests by being courteous and greeting them with a smile Must be willing to listen to our guests and provide for their needs * Must provide a genuine Thank You to every guest * Memorize a few lines from an approved script * Listen to customers and provide information to assist them * Maintain cleanliness of the theatre, pre-show, and staging areas * Maintain HGCE experience ambiance and speak clearly to an audience * Assist guests into the pre-show and theater * Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: * Must maintain a neat appearance and meet the uniform standards Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 25 pounds * Must be able to walk or stand for 5-8 hours Ability to bend, stoop, and twist * Pushing wheelchairs may be required * Must be able to interact with and speak clearly to a large audience * Must be able to clean up station and theater areas (trash, lost and found items, sweeping the floor, cleaning seats, and returning empty sample carts/obtaining filled carts) * Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, fellow coworkers, and function effectively as part of a team * The position requires a focus on exceptional customer service and expects the individual to be: approachable; courteous; knowledgeable about our products; able to clearly communicate with guests and assist them with questions; and able to provide general information to guests with a high level of professionalism * Must be able to proficiently read, write, and speak English * Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: * Experience: *Public speaking and/or theatre experience is preferred but not required * Education*: High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred but not required / This description covers the most significant duties performed but may be responsible for other minor related work assignments./ The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
