Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled nurse consultant with a passion for quality improvement and education. This individual will play a crucial role in elevating our facilities’ care standards by identifying opportunities for improvement, providing education, and leading quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives:

• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure regulatory and corporate compliance, as well as the quality of care, services, and life provided within ABCM’s licensed and certified long-term care programs

• Schedule and conduct on-site visits for regularly assigned ABCM locations, accommodating each team to ensure their presence and participation in the QAPI program

• Promote a culture of service to effectively integrate into each facility’s QAPI program by fostering a strong culture of engagement, open communication, and transparency to encourage a collaborative team environment. Must be able to provide positive feedback and solutions

• Identify potential areas of growth and development in new programs or services, team member knowledge and skills, and customer service, support, and satisfaction, collaborating with the corporate Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) team to develop and implement programs and processes that leverage these opportunities

• Proven ability to teach and mentor healthcare professionals with a positive, constructive approach focusing on the big picture and creative and innovative thinking

• Utilize standard computer programs proficiently to prepare presentations, reports, and other documentation. Prepare clear, concise reports and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations

• Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/Chief Operating Officer (COO), executing all assignments in compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines

  Qualifications / Requirements

• Must have an unrestricted and active Iowa or compact state Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Preferred minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience at a Medicare-certified skilled nursing facility (SNF)

• Strong mental health experience, primarily geriatric, will be considered in lieu of supervisory SNF experience

• Thorough understanding of the regulatory requirements for long-term care and predominantly geriatric nursing practice standards

• History of success in achieving goals using Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) practices and strategies

• Ability to lead and inspire team members to achieve shared goals

• Experience in teaching and training others, along with exceptional observation, analytical, and critical thinking skills

• Well-organized and detail-oriented with exemplary customer service skills

• Self-motivated to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills specific to the English language

• Working knowledge of computer operations, including Microsoft Office/365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic health record (EHR) systems

• Reliable transportation and travel required, including occasional overnight stays

• On-call availability during evenings and weekends required (remote, via cell phone)
