Job Description:

Responsible for daily operations and management of the mail sorting and delivery process at the designated mail service location

• Supervise TEAMS employees

• Train new employees to sort, track and deliver mail

• Schedule route assignments and cross-train employees to cover all routes

• Assign UF Mail Services delivery vehicles; verify that maintenance schedules are followed and vehicle logs are maintained

• Perform sorting of mail

Responsible for daily operations and management of the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Contract Station

• Maintain current knowledge of USPS rules and regulations

• Ensure USPS contract station associates are properly trained and informed of rate and rule changes

• Act as liaison for UF staff, faculty and students with UF Mail Services and USPS regarding outgoing mail and rates

• When necessary, provide customer service at the USPS contract station by selling US postage stamps, money orders, and metering packages

• Perform contract station end-of-day close-out and financial reporting; ensure creation of daily USPS reports and deposits

• Monitor and order USPS and Pitney Bowes supplies

Assist the Postal Services Manager in the daily operation of all mail functions and may act as the Postal Services Manager in her/his absence

Develop reports, maintain procedures manuals, track volume data, handle special projects and other duties as assigned

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

• Normal work hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm

• Flexibility to adjust normal work schedule is required to meet department needs of occasional evening or weekend work including Saturdays on a rotating basis when needed

Expected Salary:

$22.75-$25.14 Hourly

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience

• Experience in postal operations

• Demonstrated strong customer service skills

• Knowledge and skills in utilizing computers and appropriate software applications including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Demonstrated strong communication skills (verbal and written); capable of written and verbal presentations including evaluation of staff and financial aspects of operations

• Demonstrated strong organization skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail

• Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively; ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures

• Ability to work with minimum supervision and supervise others

• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
