MAG Senior Network Systems Engineer in FAIRFAX, Virginia
Position Summary
Join our growing organization as a highly skilled senior-level Network Systems Engineer in Honolulu, Hawaii! The MAG Aerospace Engineering Team is seeking an individual who can plan, develop, analyze, integrate, troubleshoot, and enhance large, complex network communications systems.
These systems include routers, switches, firewalls, SATCOM and cellular equipment, tactical communications, mesh networks, servers, mini-computers, and more. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with daily customer interaction within government facilities such as those aboard Camp Smith. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to :
Perform systems development, integration, installation, configuration, test, and verification of software and hardware solutions, primarily for communications networks, both fixed and mobile
Systematically translate product requirements into total systems solutions that adhere to technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Define network system processes, interfaces and architectures including design and reverse engineering where necessary
Develop design documentation including hardware and software architectural, functional, and interface descriptions
Produce technical papers and technical presentations
Interface directly with Government, Contractor, and Military personnel to ensure project requirements are met
Travel required: up to 10%
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
At least 8 years of full-time professional experience as a Network Systems Engineer
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal management oversight, in direct daily liaison role with Government customers
Intellectually agile with the ability to work under pressure alongside customers, partners, and competitors
Possess strong problem-solving and creative skills, strong interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience producing technical documentation with MS-Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
Education Requirement
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics-related discipline or equivalent work/military experience which is to be determined in a skills assessment/interview the MAG Team
Preferred Requirements
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification
Experience with military communications network engineering solutions including SATCOM, LOS, LAN/WAN, other BLOS
Demonstrated experience delivering a project through complete lifecycle
Experience with Windows OS and Linux OS
Professional level experience with network design
Experience integrating network communications devices aboard various mobile platforms (air, land, sea), both manned and unmanned
Master's Degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics-related discipline or equivalent work/military experience which is to be determined in a skills assessment/interview the MAG Team
Other Requirements
Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance
Must have the CompTIA Security+ Certification or be wiling and able to obtain it within a set period of time from date of hire
