Riviera Electric Electrical Service Technicians in Denver, Colorado

SUMMARY: Assists in the development of the service department through excellent customer service accomplishing all customer needs related to performing electrical duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Works in a safe manner following all NFPA, Riviera Electric Hot Work Policies, and Riviera Electrics' policies as outlined in the company handbook. Must conform to the Riviera Electric Service Technician dress code policy. Investigates and troubleshoot to determine the most efficient way to install changes to existing service or fix the problem. Must be capable of performing electrical work independently. Determines customer needs and most effective way to meet them. Estimates the amount of time and material to complete service tasks. Must communicate with Service Managers on a frequent basis regarding scheduling. Works around building owners and tenants' guidelines and policies to perform job. Determines what is necessary to accomplish tasks and meet NEC standards. Communicates with vendors, engineers, and other contractors to assure jobs are completed on schedule. Contacts customers to set appointments. Must make every effort to meet budget. Must be able to commit to the Riviera Electric Service after hour schedule as outlined by the Service Operations Manager. Keeps company vehicle properly maintained under supervision of Service Managers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of wiring systems and how to perform all phases of project installation. Knowledge of electrical control work and how to troubleshoot. Knowledge of materials. Knowledge of the relationship between wholesale, distribution and retail to determine the best relationship to save the company money. Technical knowledge of major and minor electrical materials and their uses. Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and components involved in entire system. Knowledge of parts available and use. Knowledge of commercial electrical construction. Knowledge of tools, tool uses, and repair techniques. Skill in being sensitive to customer urgency. Skill in being sensitive to customer budget. Skill in being assertive and proactive. Skill in reading and writing. Skill in prioritizing and reprioritizing to meet job needs. Skill in problem solving. Skill in organizing work to accomplish tasks. Skill in managing stress to carry out the work assignment. Skill in estimating resources needed to complete required tasks. Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints. Skill in time management. Skill in tracking numbers and bits of data relevant to the work assignment. Skill in managing equipment. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with vendors, contractors, supervisors and employees, and above all, customers. Skill in effective written and oral communication to be able to elicit and communicate information and achieve understanding in emergency and other situations. Skill as a journeyman electrician. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Walking, sitting, standing, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) bending, stooping, kneeling, driving, pulling, pushing, typing. REQUIREMENTS Requires a JW license plus at least four years of experience in electrical service or construction.
