Robert Half Accountant I in Denver, Colorado

Description We are seeking a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Denver, Colorado. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks including payroll processing, full-cycle accounts payable process, invoice and expense report processing, and month-end closing. You will also be involved in the preparation and analysis of financial documents and reports. The role requires a high level of precision and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee payroll processing and related tasks

• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable process, including reviewing and approving GL entries from the A/P Specialist and processing payments for invoices and expense reports

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and financial documents

• Generate, track, and report Purchase Orders; coordinate with other accountants for Fixed Asset Tracking and Depreciation Reconciliation

• Prepare, audit, and review 1099; manage vendor setup

• Generate and analyze utilization reporting of billable employees for senior management

• Review and file corporate registrations processed by Registered Agent

• Handle Sales and Use Tax for Denver/Colorado and Phoenix/Arizona

• Organize, scan, and file corporate documents and financial information

• Assist with month-end closing process

• Investigate reconciling items or discrepancies and propose and implement solutions

• Perform compliance duties and provide support on special requests and ad-hoc projects as necessary

• Utilize Microsoft Office 365 tools including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook for various tasks

• Collaborate with other members of the accounting team to provide back-up and assistance as needed. Requirements • Minimum two years of experience in the field of Accounting

• Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated ability to perform Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with maintaining General Ledgers and managing Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in using NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for accounting functions

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
