Description:

Engineering is looking for a talented, motivated Surveyors (Crew Chief or Instrument Operator) to join our team in NC. We are an industry leader and fast growing Survey focused consultant based out of the triad.

The surveyor must be proficient in all aspects of land surveying during field operations, including proper measures, methods and standards acceptable within the industry and specific to the equipment used. This position will require the supervision of others in the execution of boundary surveys, topographical surveys, control surveys, mortgage surveys, as-built surveys and all aspects of construction staking.

Job Responsibilities:

• Take instruction and follow directions

• Lead survey crew in executing field surveys accurately and efficiently

• Supervise survey crew members in proper surveying technique/ equipment operations

• Provide leadership in vehicle, instrument and equipment care and maintenance

• Develop thorough and accurate field notes, survey reports and calculations

• Proactively provide routine communications to supervisors

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Valid driver’s license and good driving record

• 1-2+ years survey experience (recent)

• Proficiency with robotic and GPS survey instruments

• Proficiency using laptop computers and data collection software

• Must be available to travel and work overtime

Equipment and Software Preferences

• Topcon Robotic Total Station

• Topcon GR-3 and GR-5 GPS (including VRS operation)

• Ranger and Tesla Data Collection with TDS software

• Lecia GPS

• Carlson SurvCE software

Preferred Qualifications:

• Construction staking from surface files

• Direct experience with equipment listed above

• Data import and export experience

Experience Level:

Intermediate Level
