As the Workforce Development Supervisor, you will lead a team that focuses on providing site support for training and development programs, technical documentation of various systems, compliance, and strategy. This position will be the primary point of contact for Workforce Development of our ID1 Boise Training Center and requires relocating to Boise, Idaho. Relocation assistance is available.

The person coming into this role will be tasked with leading a team whose responsibilities will include support of project management, as well as the analysis, design, development, implementation, and the delivery of technical training and high-volume manufacturing concepts and disciplines. As a part of the Workforce Development team (WFD), you will also lead the company FETA (Front-end technical academy) program, maintain training records, materials, and forms, teach classes and workshops as needed, and assist in the presentation of material for different initiatives.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Lead Idaho Expansion Workforce Development Technical Training and Documentation Team

  • Regularly review team projects and issues to ensure that the highest priorities have correct focus.

  • Develop positive relationships with counterparts in other Micron Fabs and the central organization.

  • Work to identify and to implement Best Known Methods into team operation.

  • Manage conflict in the team by making accurate decisions, maintaining a positive and constructive work environment, and establishing an encouraging atmosphere.

Performance Management

  • Meet 1:1 with team members at least every 2 weeks to review progress on goals, objectives, training, and overall performance.

  • Work with direct reports to establish career development opportunities and direction.

  • Establish performance expectations for direct reports.

Lead Projects and Metrics

  • Identify projects and apply developed project management skills to small and large projects for intra departmental, interdepartmental, and inter-site teams.

  • Participate in or lead multifaceted complex projects of critical importance to Micron.

Coach and Mentor

  • Support individuals transitioning to various positions within the department.

  • Provide background assistance to less experienced WDS in task force/quality team situations.

Analyze Needs

  • Understand type of analysis required.

  • Perform analysis and recommend appropriate action.

  • Resolve appropriate evaluationmethods.

  • Present results to collaborators.

  • Gather input from participants and management regarding training delivery.

Facilitate and Consult Internally

  • Enable communication between groups by engaging the right groups/people in training discussions and decisions.

  • Promote opportunities for involvement of department personnel in customer initiatives.

  • Look for opportunities to integrate training, documentation, OD efforts into support of customer requests.

  • Share lessons learned and Best Know Methods with other department teams.

(Career) Counsel

  • Communicate resources for continuing education to employees.

  • Articulate opportunities within different career paths – Production, Engineering, Technician, etc.

  • Discuss at basic level the education requirements for progression on each career path.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or requisite experience preferred.

  • Applicable Project Manager Certifications

Required Experience

  • 5 years in workforce development (preference for semiconductor domain) focusing on technical documentation and technical training.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with PSM/RMP systems.

  • Experience leading the technical documentation process of new systems, equipment,process, and tool installation.

  • 5 years of experience with a high-volume manufacturing and production site.

  • 3 Years of team/people management experience.
