The Auckland (AKL) team is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. Logistics Specialists review Data Center inventory, in-bound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained in the all locations to support build and repair activities.

If you would like to dive deep into the inventory consumption, control and accuracy, we’d like to meet you. Your work will to ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations by being a part of operating the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure.

Key job responsibilities

Logistics Specialists are expected to understand all aspects of transportation, shipping and receiving as well as inventory control, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain very high quality, and be willing and able to work on powered equipment (i.e forklift).

  • Working with the Logistics Manager, create plans to optimize the flow and delivery of parts through their lifecycle; tracking inventory locations and movement.

  • Working closely with Datacenter Operations Technicians to fulfill parts and equipment deliveries quickly and accurately

  • Load and unload shipments and transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of a variety of transportation vehicles

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of logistics experience

  • 2+ years of material forecasting experience

  • 2+ year of experience in shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Inventory or logistics tertiary qualification or studying towards one

  • Experience with SQL

  • Material resource planning knowledge

Additional role requirements

  • A Valid Driver's License is required

  • Lift loads of up to 40 pounds and carry them for short distances

  • Push or pull heavy objects into position

  • Work in a noisy environment

  • Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time
