Job Description:

The Lead Data Engineer works with cross functional teams to enable data operations requirements and support the effective storage and retrieval of data. He/She drives consistency and drafts and maintains standards and procedures for database environments to ensure enterprise compliance. This position monitors and analyzes performance metrics, back-up, and recovery procedures and allocates database resources to achieve optimum database performance. He/She leads installation, configuration, and deployment of software programs and patches (e.g., installing and upgrading software, maintaining relevant documentation, etc.) to ensure software tools are maintained to meet business requirements. Maintains data concepts specialist knowledge (e.g., object and data modeling techniques, design principles, database architectures, software, etc.) to evaluate potential solutions and demonstrate, install, and commission selected products. Identifies and assesses issues to communicate potential risks and impacts.

Requirements :

  • In-dept experience with design and implementation of Azure SQL Database technology and solutions

  • Experience with installation and support of SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex DB issues

  • Must be familiar with DB Sizing and Performance tuning practices

  • Experience with performing regular DB maintenance activities: Index maintenance, maintain backups (full, differential, and Log backups), manage/monitor SQL jobs, SQL Server Patching

  • Works with little or no supervision on projects of moderate to high complexity and independently on projects of low to moderate complexity

  • Serves as the primary technical contact for business teams

  • Must be a team player

  • Excellent people coaching and interpersonal capability.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or the equivalent in education and work experience

Preferred:

  • Experience with GCP Data Storage concepts and technology

  • Experience with CouchBase Capella and other NoSQL solutions

  • Ability to develop PowerShell scripts
